my journey started 6 months ago.. me and my daughter landed to the promising land of Canada to be reunited with my wife. With nothing but high hopes in our pockets and the bitter memories of the times when we were separated from my wife. Our flight was 6 in the morning at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA). It was almost a 16 hour-flight with connecting hubs in HongKong and Vancouver, with Edmonton -final destination.
In Vancouver, it was a tiring walk from the arrival tube going to immigration officer . Wherein i was asked couple of questions and finally i was given an Open Work Permit (OWP) and a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) for my daughter ( because she is just 2 years old but normally if the child is school-aged then it will be Study Permit (SP).
After the long hours.. finally EDMONTON (YEG) (it was fall when we arrived - so it was fairly cold compared the weather in the Philippines.
pinoy fact: as of 2008, total Filipino population in Canada numbered to 456,366. Majority of the population reside in Toronto, Vancouver, Winnepeg, Calgary, Edmonton and Montreal.
